  • 71programs supported
  • Draft feedbackon work you wrote
  • Writing tutoringresearch and editing

Your work stays yours

Everything you hand in is written by you. Your tutor explains, comments and points the way, and your school account, quizzes and exams stay yours.

Check Capella's academic integrity policy and your syllabus for each course's guidance on outside feedback. Study guides suit every course.

Where a tutor helps

Pick feedback on something you've written, or a guide to plan what comes next. Whether you study in FlexPath or GuidedPath, your tutor works from the same scoring guides your Capella faculty use.

Feedback on your draft

Send the draft you wrote and the assignment's scoring guide. A tutor reads it against every criterion and sends back comments on your argument, your sources and your APA 7 formatting, so you know exactly what to revise.

  • Comments on every scoring guide criterion
  • Structure, evidence and clarity
  • APA 7 citations and references

Study guides

A guide to your Capella program: how its courses are laid out, what each scoring guide asks for, and how to plan your assessments so nothing catches you late.

  • The courses ahead in your program
  • Scoring guides explained in plain words
  • A week-by-week study plan

Writing, research and editing tutoring

Build the skills behind every paper: planning and outlining to the scoring guide, finding and judging scholarly sources in the Capella library, and editing your own draft for clarity, grammar and APA 7.

  • Writing: thesis, outline and structure
  • Research: finding and judging sources
  • Editing: clarity, grammar and APA 7

In nursing courses, tutors comment on care plans, evidence-based practice papers, PICOT questions and literature reviews you've drafted.

For health care papers, a tutor checks your use of data and sources and how clearly your recommendations follow from them.

In business courses, a tutor reads your case study or business plan against the scoring guide and flags gaps in analysis.

How Capella grades your work

Every Capella assessment is graded on its scoring guide, criterion by criterion, at four levels: Non-performance, Basic, Proficient and Distinguished. Your tutor shows you what moves each criterion up to Distinguished.

  1. 1Non-performance
  2. 2Basic
  3. 3Proficient
  4. 4Distinguished

What a top-scoring paper has

  • Answers every criterion in the rubric, in order
  • A clear thesis carried through each section
  • Current, scholarly evidence for each claim
  • Analysis that applies the evidence to the case
  • Correct APA 7 citations and references

What you'll write

  • Care plans
  • PICOT questions
  • Evidence-based practice papers
  • Policy briefs
  • Program evaluations
  • Health promotion plans

How it works

From request to feedback in three steps.

  1. 1

    Send a request

Choose draft feedback or a study guide, and tell us your program and course.

  2. 2

    Share your work

Your tutor asks for your draft and scoring guide, or the course you want a guide for.

  3. 3

    Get your feedback

Written comments on your draft, or your study guide, sent to you by text or email.

Before you start

How does draft feedback work?

You share the draft you wrote and its scoring guide. Your tutor marks what already works and what each criterion still needs, and you revise it with those notes.

Do you offer research help?

Yes. Your tutor teaches you how to find scholarly sources, judge their quality, take notes you can cite, and build them into your paper.

Do tutors help with editing and proofreading?

Yes. Your tutor highlights spelling, grammar, wording and citation issues and shows you how to correct them, so your own editing gets sharper with every paper.

How does writing tutoring help?

Your tutor works with you on planning and writing Capella papers: turning the scoring guide into an outline, building each section and citing as you go.

What do I send?

The draft you wrote, the instructions and the scoring guide. Earlier instructor comments help your tutor see what to focus on.

Is there a study guide for my Capella program?

Yes. Ask for one in the form with your program and course, and your tutor sends the guide and goes through its scoring guides with you.

Is my draft kept private?

Yes. Your draft and details are shared only with your tutor.
